How does Camp Out Michigan raise funds with the Bike Tour?
Any proceeds from this event, after paying expenses, will be split between the two charities that were selected this year. In addition, participants have the option to designate a donation to either or both charities when they register.

This year's charities both serve the entire state of Michigan.

Michigan Equality
Michigan Equality is a statewide organization dedicated to building and using political power to promote equality and eliminate discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
Michigan Equality is the only Lansing-based political organization fighting for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender families and individuals. They are on the forefront, changing the face of politics in Michigan. Only Michigan Equality has the single attention to serve the LGBT community in such a significant way.
Michigan Equality educates not only the LGBT community, but reaches out to allies throughout Michigan. They bring the LGBT community to the citizens of Michigan through our Coming Out Stories, coverage of LGBT history, town hall forums, progressive policy and faith based education.

Perceptions Scholarship Fund
Perceptions is a community organization that serves the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Community and their allies in the Saginaw Valley region. They have established an endowed scholarship fund that awards scholarships to students, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, who can demonstrate a commitment to promoting equal rights for or improving the lives of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. Any Michigan resident may apply for the annual scholarship which is administered by the Saginaw Community Foundation.
